How to cancel and recreate a shipment?

You have created a shipment with Packrooster Shipping but now you have to either cancel the shipment or recreate a new one? That can be done with Packrooster, here's how!

Cancelling a shipment

If you want to cancel the shipment you have just created, open the order in Packrooster. There you will find a button that allows you to cancel the shipment. We kindly recommend to save the tracking number shown with green text in the UI.

Now you are back to where you started!

It might be beneficial also to contact the carrier or take a look at the carriers own systems to see if the shipment is for sure cancelled after the cancellation in Packrooster Shipping.

On an important note, we don't recommend doing this lightheartedly, as the old tracking link is vanished from the interface.

"What about returns? Customer wants to return the order and change the product to another"

In these cases there's a recommended way of working with Packrooster Shipping. If you look at the first screenshot, there's a "Return label" button above the line items.

In cases of customer returns, you are able to generate a return label to send to the customer. Just press the button and select the correct return method. Shipment cancellation is not needed.

How to generate the new shipping label? We recommend using an return or exchange app of your choice. One for example is called Exchange it: https://apps.shopify.com/exchange-it

With ExChange It you can create a new order based on the old order. This way you will save the correct customer information to the new order and you can also add the product sent to customer to the new order.

After you have created the new order, you can open the new order for fulfillment in Packrooster. You have to add the shipping method manually, but after you have selected the shipping method you can process the order like usual.

Now you have the tracking data saved from the old order and have a new fresh order to fulfill for the customer!
