What is an API

Many of the functionalities found in Packrooster Shipping are based on different kind of APIs to the carrier systems. An API (Application Programming Interface) is a technology that allows two different systems to communicate with each other.

For example, if you are fulfilling an order with Packrooster and use DHL Express for the shipments, Packrooster sends an API request to DHL Express API to generate the necessary shipping labels and, if needed, customs documents for the order processer.

Integrating different carrier's services to Packrooster Shipping is easy - The only thing you have to do is type the necessary API credentials from the carrier to Packrooster's shipping carrier settings for each carrier. After the API credentials are in place, the integration is done and you can display needed shipping services at your Shopify stores checkout and start shipping!
