Custom declaration

When shipping internationally, customs declarations are required for orders that cross country borders and may be subject to import duties or taxes. With Packrooster, shipping internationally is streamlined and efficient – even when customs documentation is required. For Shopify merchants using Packrooster, customs documents are generated automatically and sent electronically to the carrier when needed. Most of the carriers and destination countries support Paperless Trade (PLT) so electric handling of customs documentations is enough.

This means you don’t have to worry about printing or attaching physical customs forms – Packrooster takes care of the process in the background, ensuring that your international shipments include the correct information for smooth customs clearance.

To make sure everything works as expected:

• Fill out product information in Shopify accurately, especially HS codes and country of origin.

In scenarios where you are fulfilling an order and customs declarations are required, Packrooster will not allow you to fulfill the order if either Country of Origin or HS-code is missing from the product(s).

• Fill in the necessary details in Packrooster General settings. These include VAT number, VOEC-number (if you are shipping to Norway), IOSS-number and HMRC-number (if you are shipping to United Kingdom)
